TRAINING EVALUATION

Do not announce the exact time you will expect to look at a horse, or arrive earlier than anticipated. If a mount is already to ride, have the saddle taken off, turn him loose, and begin from the first entry.

1- Hard to catch ( 5-10 )

Hard to catch, especially by the owner, shows that a horse has had little handling, or that sometime in his life has been subject to harsh treatment from man — which he never will forgive or forget. Downright frustrating, an extremely dlfficult to corner horse can also be dangerous.

2 Hard to halter/bridle ( 1-5 ) [92]

Being head shy might be the end result of someone trying to "knock some brains," into the horse. Abuse, no matter how applied never taught no horse, nothing, no-how.

3- Fights the lead rope ( 5-10 )

So much of the conformation and lameness examination requires the horse to be walked, that it is difficult to come to a satisfactory conclusion without cooperation. Halter training is something a colt/filly should have learned in kindergarten.
