A horse, of course. What type? Do you have your heart set on an Appaloosa, and if so why? Maybe something advertised as 'spirited but gentle' sounds exciting, but what do these words really mean? You know that a Thoroughbred is a breed of a horse, not an indication of a bloodline, as it is in a dog's pedigree, but what then is a "grade" horse?

In answering these questions, I want you to remember that I'm trying to save the buyer money, and for once, I have no pressures from a horse magazine editor worried about pleasing his major advertisers.
